Horizon Education Group created the opportunity to gather prestigious universities from all over the world under the single roof of Tarabya British Schools.
Supporting our vision of developing ‘Global Citizens’, Tarabya British Schools hosted a panel of highly respected professionals to discuss the“Different Views on a Pathway to University”. Participants from prestigious universities and the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education met on Friday, 23rd May, 2014 and were joined by speakers such as Tony Wagner from Havard University and OECD Director Dr. Andreas Schleicher via video conferencing.
The Panel, which also included Rhona Armour from Cambridge International Examinations, Dr. Kelvin Gregory from the Australian Ministry of Education and the University of Sydney, Dr. Heiko Walkenhorst from Jacobs University all joined Dr. Semih Aktekin from the Turkish Education Ministry to address issues such as national education strategies, university admission systems and the student selection policies of universities from various countries in order to compare and contrast the weaknesses and strengths in all.
During our event, potential undergraduate and graduate students that are being financially supported by the Turkish Ministry of Education in their studies, together with the students from Tarabya British Schools, also had the chance to meet university representatives to further understand the application process and courses on offer at their universities.
