Ağrı Yelkesen Primary School’s students New Year wishes have been coming true with the support of the students and parents of Tarabya British School (TBS), a member of Horizon Education Group.
A social responsibility project was launched to ensure that a child’s wishes come true, such as receiving a new pair of shoes, a dress or even their favourite toy.
The project that was started by visualising the children’s dreams. For example, children drew their wishes, the things that they dream about, saw on TV, need for daily life or more importantly the things that they cannot ask to their parents and sent them to TBS.
Drawings and photographs from these students were sent to TBS, each one enveloped and hung on this year’s Christmas tree with the New Year decorations. All students at TBS randomly chose one of these envelopes and purchased one of the wishes made by the child.
The project exceeded expectations satisfying not only the students’ wishes in the village school in Ağrı but also providing some of the school’s basic necessities via the parent-teacher association.
Due to the extraordinary devotion and help offered by the parents of TBS, the students got the toys that they dreamed of and were also provided with shoes and clothes supplied by the teachers of Yelkesen Primary School, such as shoes, coats, gloves and berets.
