EARLY YEARS EDUCATION
Overview
Children develop quickly in the early years, and early years teachers aim to do all they can to help children have the best possible start in life. Children have a right, spelled out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, to provision which enables them to develop their personalities, talents and abilities irrespective of ethnicity, culture or religion, home language, family background, learning difficulties, disabilities or gender.
Early childhood is the foundation on which children build the rest of their lives. At TBS we recognise and value the important role that the Early Years Foundation Stage plays in preparing children for their future learning and development. All children are unique. Teachers invest in building trusting relationships with children and families, within an enabling environment which provides children with the security to develop into resilient, capable, confident and compassionate learners.
