ERASMUS PLUS PROJECT
TBS Hosted 8 Countries' Representitives
As Tarabya British Schools we are part of an Erasmus + project whose main theme is cultural exchange among European high schools. The name of the project is Euroballades a French word meaning “Visiting Europe” whose purpose is to strengthen cultural exchange among high schools of Europe.
We were proud to receive our Erasmus guests from a total of 8 nations who visited our school today and met with our teachers and students. Visiting teacher came from Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece.
Our Erasmus team is taking our guests to important cultural places and sights in Istanbul but today was the day to exchange food with our guests who had brought the food from their countries and they spent time with other teachers from our school as well as students. We will have everlasting memories of the day thanks to many pictures taken.
TBS Students are preparing a Eurobalades Garden
As part of the Erasmus+ Eurobalades Project which started in September 2014, our students are preparing a garden at their campus in Tarabya. The seeds for the plants and vegetables for the garden have been sent to TBS from the schools across Europe who are participating in the project. These schools are located in Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Spain. The first gardening workshop at TBS was facilitated by Terraqua Design, a Gardening Design Company based in Istanbul. In this workshop students learnt how to plant seeds, and care for them in doors during germination. Now, we are waiting impatiently for the next gardening workshop, in which students are going to transfer their baby plants to the Eurobalades Garden.
