Berra Nur Yılmaz, who began swimming at the age of four, won her first gold medal at the age of six. She now smiles as she recalls trying to bite the medal back then to check whether it was real gold. Berra says she draws strength from that very first gold medal before every race. She has won medals in all freestyle women’s events she has competed in and, with her record-breaking performances, earned a place on the Turkish National Team.
Expressing her deep passion for swimming, Berra Nur Yılmaz emphasizes that she has reached this point thanks to her family’s support, and she attributes her success to never losing her determination. With more than 100 medals to her name, our young national swimmer dreams of becoming a world champion and breaking records at the Olympics to make the Turkish national anthem resonate around the world.
